Best 68th day ever.

My insomnia is growing exponentially as I wait for the promise land that is E3 in just over two weeks. I’ve been dreaming of going to the event since I first saw the spectacle on TV years ago. Yes, there’s the overwhelming joy of the games and lights and music pumping simultaneously through the convention walls and my veins, but going to E3 as a writer is what I’m looking forward to. That, and visiting the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ star on the Walk of Fame.

This isn’t some contest or raffle, nor did I win a G4 exclusive trip to LA. I’m heading over because I’ve earned it, because SFX 360 believes in me. I will make my family, friends, and SFX 360 proud.

To everyone who has stood behind me until now, I thank you. I’m almost there.

And to everyone else, to the nay-sayers who gave me excuses and falsely compassionate stares when I sought support, who gave up on me rather than give me a shot, please enjoy watching the jonventure pass you by.

I’ll be sure to take pictures. When I’m smiling directly into the camera… that’s for you.

E3 is coming, and Jon Venture will be there.
